Blockaid’s industry-leading onchain security is coming to LayerZero. Bridge Sentinel by Blockaid is a security-focused DVN that proactively screens each message against Blockaid's real-time threat intelligence engine. Asset issuers will now be able to require transactions involving their assets to complete an independent security review designed to protect against malicious counterparties, stolen funds, or the lack of a real source event. The most rigorous tokenized asset issuers in the world choose the OFT Standard because of the level of configuration and control that it provides. One example of this is in the verification and security of a transaction using LayerZero’s cross-chain interoperability protocol. When using the OFT Standard, each issuer chooses which verifiers, or DVNs, must attest to a transaction involving their asset, and how many of these DVNs must agree on the validity of this proposed transaction before it can be completed.
Blockaid now operates one of those DVNs, Bridge Sentinel, featuring built-in real-time fraud detection. An issuer that sets Blockaid’s Bridge Sentinel DVN as required will be forcing an independent security check that is binding: if Blockaid withholds its signature, the message does not complete.
The scope of this fraud detection provided by Blockaid represents a new paradigm in security for cross-chain infrastructure. LayerZero has been a pioneer in giving asset issuers the granular control to set security checks related specifically to token actions on cross-chain protocols, including KYC, AML, allowlists, blocklists, rate limiting, and others.
Blockaid now brings an additional layer of security by monitoring events that happen outside the interoperability mesh, like active exploits, sanctioned entities, and drainer infrastructure. For example, a message with no real source event, a malicious counterparty, or moving stolen funds will be refused before it lands if Bridge Sentinel is part of the required verification configuration.
How It Works
A standard attestation confirms a message is authentic. Blockaid’s Bridge Sentinel also evaluates whether it is safe, in the seconds before it signs. Bridge Sentinel evaluates the following:
- The event behind the message. It confirms the lock or burn happened on the source chain, and screens the originating addresses for ties to sanctioned entities, drainer infrastructure, and active exploits.
- The limits on the mint. It holds each mint to a per-message cap and a rolling-window cap, and can enforce a rate limit as issuer policy on routes that carry none at the token level.
- The configuration of the route. It monitors the verifier set and threshold, ownership and admin roles on both chains, and the addresses holding mint, burn, pause, and rate-limit authority. If any of them change, it stops attesting and notifies the issuer.
- The outcome of the call. Each message is decoded down to the contract it will call and the addresses that gain value from it, and issuer-defined policies set the response, approving the message, holding it for human review, or refusing to sign. The decision lands before execution, at the only point where a bad transfer can still be stopped outright.
In addition, asset issuers will be able to opt in to Blockaid’s Cosigner, which allows Blockaid to proactively take additional actions to protect an asset across all chains, not just the chains related to the individual message in question.
Blockaid is the undisputed leader in onchain security, providing enterprise-grade security for everything onchain, including End User Protection, Onchain Monitoring, Crypto Fraud Prevention, and Cosigner.
Now, the best-in-class security of Blockaid will be available to all issuers whose assets use LayerZero's OFT standard.

Blockaid Joins a Marketplace of DVN Providers Featuring Leading Global Enterprises
Bridge Sentinel joins a verifier marketplace that institutional issuers already use to build a security stack to their own unique requirements. Fidelity's Center for Applied Technology (FCAT) verifies tokenized assets across eleven chains, with Ondo Finance as its first integrator. Deutsche Telekom MMS runs EU-sovereign infrastructure in twin German and Dutch data centers for issuers building toward MiCA. Google Cloud has attested LayerZero messages since 2023. Alongside them are zk-based verifiers, hardware-attested verifiers, established node operators, and issuers running their own DVNs.
An asset issuer decides which of these DVNs must sign, and how many must agree on a transaction to be valid. Issuers building with regulators in mind cannot compromise on this degree of customization and control: a compliance organization gets to pick names its examiners recognize, a security team gets to pick methodologies it trusts, and a European issuer gets to keep verification inside its own regulatory perimeter. Adding a live threat intelligence review to that stack is one more configuration decision the issuer owns. Read more about enterprise DVNs →
That control is also critical to satisfying an issuer’s risk committee requirements. Institutions judge infrastructure through the frameworks they already use, like vendor security questionnaires, control attestations, independent verification before a listing. LayerZero is working with peers across the industry to codify existing risk standards and best practices, so issuers and their examiners have a consistent bar to evaluate against, rather than a different answer from every vendor. This launch with Blockaid is the first step towards a consistent framework of evaluation institutions and enterprises can trust.

About LayerZero
LayerZero connects the world's most important assets to the world's most utilized blockchains. Issuers use the OFT Standard to distribute assets to 170+ chains. Chains use LayerZero Endpoints to connect to those assets and users. Wallets and exchanges use the Value Transfer API to move them. Trusted by Tether, PayPal, Paxos, Ondo and Anchorage Digital, LayerZero is the standard for cross-chain interoperability.
About Blockaid
Blockaid is the onchain security platform trusted by the largest companies operating in Web3. Built by veterans of elite intelligence and cybersecurity units, Blockaid provides end-to-end protection for financial institutions, protocols, and end users, combining direct wallet and dApp integrations with real-time monitoring, detection, and response across smart contracts, infrastructure, and externally owned accounts. Since 2025, Blockaid scanned over 6.3 billion transactions and blocked 585 million attacks. Blockaid is the security infrastructure behind Coinbase, MetaMask, Uniswap, Safe, and dozens of the most widely used platforms in the industry.
